The African Union has not and will not backslide when it comes to uniting Africa as well as putting effort in enhancing operational effectiveness to aid the growth of African countries.

The first AU Logistics Exercise (IMDAD AFRICA) has been opened at the Continental Logistics Base in Douala, Cameroon as part of AU’s effort to enhance the operational effectiveness of the The African Standby Force (ASF) within The African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) in the spirit of African solutions to African problems.

According to Major Gen. Saly Mahamadou, he said “As we all know, efficient logistical support is essential for the success of ASF engagements within AU Peace Support Missions. Cameroon will continue to support AU initiatives for collective peace and security in Africa.”

Major Gen. Nakibus Lakara of the Uganda People’s Defence Force has said since the logistics exercise is the first of its’ kind, it is of historical value
