Power, Works and Housing Minister, Babatunde Fashola, SAN, at the 7th Meeting of the National Council on Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Gombe State, disclosed that those who wish to buy houses through mortgages to do so through the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) with 0 % equity for loans not exceeding N5 million.
The Minister stated that the Federal Government policies will enable Nigerians working with the government and private sectors to be able to afford a home in the National Housing Programme (NHP) currently going on in 34 States.
This year’s theme at the 7th National Council on Land, Housing and Urban Development focussed on the, “Provision of Affordable Housing: A Catalyst for Development and Sustainable Economic Growth.”
The event had the likes of Minister of State I, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri, Minister of State II, Surv. Sulaiman Hassan and Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe and others.
