One of Nigeria’s strongest financial institutions, First Bank Nigeria, is not relenting in its efforts at ensuring they support the government in terms of Agricultural development in the country.
The bank recently held the First Bank Agric Expo 2018 which took place in Lagos, with the theme ‘”Innovating For A Sustainable Green Economy,” as important personalities in both the agricultural sector and other spheres came out to discuss way forward.
Chairman of the bank, Ibukun Awosika, during her speech with Agropreneurs, spoke about the presence and contributions of First Bank to the Nigerian Economy as she stated that, “if you map out Nigeria before and after independence, it is impossible to leave out First Bank. At this point in the history of our nation, it is important to recognise that food plays a crucial role in our health and general well-being.”
Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, Dr Okechukwu Enelamah speaking on the importance of Agriculture in the trade and investment sector of Nigeria, stated that “Agriculture is arguably the number one priority of this govt. In our economic recovery, agriculture played a crucial role & in terms of the most reasonable commitment/achievement by this government, Agriculture is still number one.”
Special guest of honour at the event, Hon. Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, along with other top personalities were also present to share in the vision of First Bank towards supporting the Agric sector in Nigeria.
