Ade Ayeyemi, Ecobank Group CEO really mean serious business for the Pan African bank as he is ensuring that the bank breaks boundaries to emerge one of the best not just in Nigeria but across various countries.
Ade was part of the speakers at the just concluded Transform Africa Summit 2018, which was held in Rwanda, and he took his time to share creative ideas on the bank’s digital platforms to an audience in Kigali including Rwandan President, Paul Kagame.
He stated that there is need to leverage on technology to bring financial services to every African at a price point that is affordable to them and sustainable for the business.
According to the GCEO Ecobank at the summit, he said, “we must leverage on technology to bring financial services to every African at a price point that is affordable to them and sustainable for the business. A market is a place that have common rules and standards…the Free trade Agreement by 44 African countries is great but needs restraint from sovereign behaviour that impedes a common market. e.g. why need Visa across the borders?”
Ecobank which has been able to build a strong standard and strategically position itself among other top banks in the country also won the award for Best Digital Strategy at the Retail Bankers International awards held recently and the award was collected on behalf of the bank by Osahon Akpata.
