A pharmacist, Stephen Mbah, was announced Anambra State governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) held yesterday in Awka, the state capital.
Chairman of PRP screening committee, Humphrey Alaso, said Mbah was the sole aspirant, as the only opponent he had, Professor Jide Jesus did not purchase anomination form.
Out of 253 delegates drawn from the 21 council areas in the state, 252 voted for Mbah.
The party adopted option A4 in the exercise monitored by a representative of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Abia State chairman of the PRP, Chief Godwin Kanu represented the national executive, saying the party will emerge victorious at the November 18 poll and take over the Government House.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Mbah thanked the delegates and appealed for their support for the victory of the party, saying his administration would focus on infrastructure,security, free education at all levels, food security, free anti natal for mothers, among other democracy dividends.
