The bank recently partnered with the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), to host the Polo tournament which was held at the Guards Polo Club, Windsor, UK in partnership with Fifth Chukker.
The Access Bank Polo Day raised an incredible $2.2m (800m Naira)! As this will build 46 classrooms for under privileged children in Northern Nigeria under the observation of UNICEF Nigeria.
Chairman of Access Bank Nigeria, Mrs. Mosun Belo-Olusoga, was delighted to have hosted so many guests at the polo tournament as she stated that “Our fundraising with Fifhth Chukker for UNICEF Nigeria aims to educate and support vulnerable children in Northern Nigeria.”
The various teams that took part in the tournament were Shoreline, Keffi Ponies, Delaney and Access Bank Fifth Chukka.
The winning team in the ‘Emir’s Cup’ match at The Access Bank Day polo tournament was Shoreline as the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, presented proud team captain, Kola Karim, with their trophy.
Group Managing Director/CEO of Access Bank, Mr. Herbert Wigwe; Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II and former President of The Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhued were top guests also present.
