… Pledges to build neonatal clinic by end of Year

The Rotary Club of Omole has pledged to commence the construction of an additional neonatal clinic at the General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye before the end of the year to forestall neonatal deaths and deformities.

The President of the Club, Rotarian Ibironke Alaba made this known while presenting five new incubators and phototherapy machines to the Paediatrics department of the hospital.

She said “We are here today in fulfilment of our obligations to the Rotary Club and our pledge to this Hospital. Since the unfortunate loss of a set of pre-term twins some years ago due to inadequate incubators, the club has made it a point of duty to donate incubators annually and also revive faulty ones.”

Also speaking during the presentation, the District Governor, District 9110, Rotarian Kolapo Sodipo applauded the initiative of the Omole Rotary Club, saying that “This is not the first time that the Club will be doing such projects.”

The District Governor also inaugurated a six-man rotary community corps committee to ensure the devices are effectively maintained for maximal performance.

The Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Olusola Amure commended the Rotarians for complementing the State Government in the provision of fundamental neonatal equipment thereby saving lives and generally doing good to mankind.

Dr. Amure stated that “This year alone the State Government has provided three incubators and in all, we have thirteen functional incubators.”
