Founder and President of the All Nigeria Youth Reoriented Movement, Mr. Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has called on Christian and Muslim faithful to consistently pray for peace in Nigeria as they observe this year’s Ramadan fasting. Citing the words of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”الأفضل بينكم هو الذي لا يؤذي الآخرين بلسانه ويديه”. النبي محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلم) the best among you is the one who doesn’t harm others with his tongue and hands’.
Olufemi, in an interview with journalists, noted that fasting is a sober period to draw closer to the Creator, it signifies internal cleansing and spiritual renewal, the universe can benefit immensely from the prayers of the faithful during the period.
“I urge all Islamic clerics, community leaders and members of the Islamic faith and Christians alike to shun any form of violence, killings, kidnapping and all forms of religious and ethnic discrimination. We are charged with the obligation to be our brother’s keeper, the duty to work for peace in our communities and the country is on we all.
” We cannot afford to remain unconcerned or complacent over the present level of insecurity and harsh economic realities in our country. Therefore, let us pray earnestly for the Almighty’s intervention in the socioeconomic life of our people”,he stated.
He said further “It is my prayer that Allah pardons our iniquities and receives the earnest prayers and sacrifices of the Muslim Ummah during this Holy Month. May we emerge better as an individual, community and national level after this spiritual exercise.
He added that the youth who controls the largest population should be profitably engaged so as not be involved in social vices that might affect the nation’s peace and progress.
