The issue of compromise among some security agencies have eaten deep into the sector that it has given the various security agencies a bad name rather than accolades over the good jobs they have been doing.

One of such sectors which will not like to be associated with the issue of compromise is the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), as the security agency stated that they are not interested in bribe but to ensure that every citizen complies to the rules and regulations of the authority.

Lagos State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide, in an exclusive interview with students of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Ogba, at the Command’s sector office, disclosed that there is no security agency that trains its personnel on how to compromise.

Ogungbemide stressed that as far as FRSC is concern, they are never in support of bribe taking as he will not spare any of its personnel that goes against the ethics of the job.

In his words, “My stand on that issue when it comes to compromise, the uniform organisation members are also a reflection of the society. There is nobody that entered FRSC school or other security agencies that is taught how to collect bribe. It takes two to tangle. There is a giver and there is a receiver. If you don’t give, I can’t force it out from you.

“In FRSC, we have zero tolerance to issue of compromise. FRSC is an establishment where there is no return syndrome. I have never sent anybody to go and collect bribe and nobody brings anything here as returns and if anyone is caught, I will be the one to punish them and we have some officers on trial.”
