All is not well with one of Nigeria’s leading financial institution, United Bank for Africa (UBA), as the bank is currently swimming in death scandal.
The bank was thrown into confusion after one of its customers who came to the bank’s head office located at Marina, Lagos for business transaction died after the bank’s lift developed fault.
The customer is said to be leaving the 14th floor to the ground floor when the incident happened.
The lift which is owned and managed by Kresta Laurel Limited, an engineering firm owned by former Ogun State governor, Mr. Gbenga Daniel, we gathered developed fault suddenly and the customer was said to have died on the spot.
Meanwhile, the bank which is owned and chaired by Mr. Tony Elumelu, we were told as refused to compensate the family of the deceased.
Inside sources disclosed that the family has concluded plans to seek justice at the court.
