The Government may have forgotten about the masses when it comes to relief materials after the lockdown due to covid-19, but some individuals have not neglected those that have nothing to live on as they still try to reach out to many as possible.
One of such philanthropic group to have taken a step to put smiles on the faces of some on the street is the Business and Social Mingle group (BSM), a non-governmental organisation, as they storm Agege, an area in Lagos, to share food to those with some form of challenges.
The Leader of the group cum Nollywood actor, Christopher Bassey, along with other members of the group, were moved to make such gesture as a way of recognising the importance of the people that survive through the streets.
Bassey stated that the gesture remains a normal routine which will be taken to other states as the group continues to grow.
He went on to add that base on its name, the group was created to have mature minds come together to ease of stress after work, socialise as well as support the growth of its members in any little way they can.
In his words, “the group is not about fun alone, but ability to unite mature minds, share tasks regularly and also see how we can support one another grow. We also feel that aside our members, we can also reach out to the vulnerable people in the society that have nothing to survive on. BSM is a non-governmental organisation and is made up of Top Business Executives, Lawyers, HR of companies, Doctors, Entrepreneurs, Top Models, Celebrities and more.”
