All Nigerian Youths Reoriented Movement Condemns APC’s endorsement of Obarisi Ovie Omo Agege as Senate Deputy President for it is pure celebration of impunity.
The Leaders of All Nigerian Youths Reoriented movement yesterday condemned Unruly behavior of Omo Agege regarding kidnapping of National Assembly Mace that alone disqualifies him becoming Deputy Senate President of Nigeria.
In the interview with the stakeholders at their meeting recently, Chairman, OLUFEMI AJADI OGUNTOYINBO, comrade OLUGBENGA AWOEYO, Barrister IZUNYA DALE ISAAC, Sec. PETER EZEKIEL condemned the endorsement of Omo Agege for Deputy Senate president
Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege is a Nigerian lawyer and politician, a senator representing the Delta State central senatorial district at the Nigerian 8th senate. Omo-Agege is from Orogun in Ughelli North local Government of Delta State.
Mr Omo-Agege is believed to have led the armed invasion of the National Assembly last year leading to the theft of the Senate mace. Although he denied the allegation, he was found culpable by a National Assembly committee that investigated the incident. Report also showed that Mr. Omo-Agege led the thugs into the Senate chamber.
Information gathered by our senior Journalist in the interview, Olugbega Awoeyo said ;
It has come to the notice of public that the ruling party, All Progressive Congress, favours the emergence of Senator Omo Agege as Deputy Senate President in the ninth National Assembly so as to compensate him for his dastard action purportedly sponsored by them.
Mr Awoeyo said, this is a dirty slap on our democracy if such idiotic idea is eventually played out. It certainly means all forms of impunity is being encouraged and allowed in this country under APC rulership as they continue to fail to become good leaders which is still the bane of Nigeria.
Awoeyo said all genuine democrats must therefore stand against this dishonourable act which must be curbed to have a meaningful future we all hope for in this country.
Also urge honourable and right thinking people in the senate and in the country to come together in defence of our democracy which is under threat since inception of GMB as President of Nigeria.
Awoeyo claimed that he learnt that making him Deputy Senate President is to compensate him for his barbaric action he chose to disrupt the peace of the Nation by stealing the mace in their failed attempt to illegally remove the then Senate President of the eighth National Assembly, Bukola Saraki.
He therefore, suggested that Omo Agege be brought to justice and penalised rather than being celebrated and promoted to deputy senate president so as to serve as deterrent to others instead of encouraging our aspired youths to do the worst of his stupid action later in life.
